Basic Formulation
Depending on the drug candidate’s solubility properties, lipids, surfactants, complexation agents, and co-solvents can be added to increase solubility, and hence enhance solubility and bioavailability for initial animal testing. Suspensions or emulsions can also be prepared to afford stable and usable formulations of poorly water-soluble drug candidates.
